Abstract
E-learning was held because of the corona virus which resulted in
all units of education from PAUD (Early Childhood Education) to PTN (State
Universities) being vacated for 14 days without leaving home. Finally, it
applies distance learning with an online system, to break the chain of corona
viruses that have spread a lot. The results of e-learning learning research can
be said to work well if parents and teachers meet the necessary tools such as;
hardware, software, infrastructure, learning content, and interaction
strategies. The purpose of this research is to find the advantages and
disadvantages. The survey method was used in this study to obtain from
respondents who experienced and ran e-learning directly. Data collection
techniques using questionnaires or questionnaires from individuals.

A.
Introduction
The spread of the corona virus was initially very
influential on the economic world which began to fade, but now the impact is
also felt by the world of education. The policies taken by many countries
including Indonesia by dismissing all educational activities, make the
government and related institutions must present alternative educational
processes for students and students who cannot carry out the educational
process in educational institutions.
The Ministry of Education and Culture is currently
based on official information, ready with all scenarios including the
application of working together to encourage online learning (in networks) for
students. In an effort to keep students studying at home, the Ministry of
Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) has prepared a number of supports to smooth
the process. (Huba, 2020)

Discussion
With E-learning, students (learners or students) do
not need to sit sweetly in the classroom to listen to every greeting from a teacher
directly. E-learning can also shorten the target schedule of learning time, and
of course save costs that must be incurred by a study program or educational
program.
The
facilities provided include the management of students or students, the management
of learning materials, the management of the learning process including the
management of learning evaluations and the management of communication between
learners and their facilitators.(2, 2019)
Judging from
its function there are 3 E-learning functions mentioned by an educational
expert named Siahaan towards learning activities in the classroom including:
a) As a supplement (additional)
Students and students have the freedom to choose the
material he wants to find whether it is through E-learning or not. At this
point, there is no requirement for a student or student to be able to access
learning material via the internet. They are allowed to not access, but if they
choose to e-Learning, it must be appreciated for their efforts in increasing
knowledge.
b) As a complement (complement)
If in a class there are enrichment or remedial activities, E-learning
functions as a complement to existing learning materials so that students or
students are not pegged to the same material, can add insight to classroom
learning materials, and so that students or students' understanding of be more
than before.
c) As a substitution (substitute)
E-learning functions as a substitute when
using models of learning activities. There are 3 types of models of learning
activities including, fully face to face, some face to face and part through
the internet, fully through the internet.(Prameswarik, 2017)
The strengths of using E-learning:
a)
Is
an effective, fast and credible communication medium for delivering e-learning
material from an expert.
b)
Covers
a large area.
c)
Participants
get a complete visualization of the speaking.
d)
Large
or small classes: Classes no longer need physical form, they can all be built
into Internet applications.
e)
Anytime,
anywhere: Can be accessed from any location and is global. Elearning removes
time and place restrictions with traditional class characteristics by using
asynchronous communication modes such as e-mail, online discussions, students
can access 24 hours a day.
f)
Building
a Community: Learning is a social process. Students can learn to exchange
information with one another as with instructors. Real time and non-real time
interactions can be created.
g)
Improving
student learning: Through the Internet the organization will be able to focus
more on organizing educational / training programs. Accommodate the entire
learning process and also transactions. The material can be designed multimedia
and dynamic. Learning participants can connect to various virtual libraries
throughout the world and make it a research medium in improving understanding
of teaching materials. Teachers / instructors / lecturers can quickly add
teaching material references that are case studies, industry trends and
technology projections going forward through various sources to add
participants' insights to the teaching material. As for the benefits of using
blended learning as a combination of face-to-face teaching and online teaching,
but more than that as an element of social interaction, namely:
1)
There
is interaction between teachers and students.
2)
Teaching
can be on line or face to face.
3)
Blended
Learning = combining instructional modalities (or delivery media),
4)
Blended
Learning = combining instructional methods
Weaknesses of the E-learning learning system:
a) Tendency to ignore academic or social aspects.
b) The learning and teaching process tends towards training rather than
education.
c) Changing the role of the teacher and who initially mastered conventional
learning techniques, are now also required to know learning techniques that use
ICT.
d) Students who do not have high learning motivation tend to fail
e) Not all internet facilities are available (maybe this is related to the
problem of the availability of electricity, telephone, or computer).
f) Lack of computer mastery.
g) Lack of interaction between teacher and student and even between students
themselves. This lack of interaction can slow the formation of values in the
teaching-learning process.(Sugiarto Hartono, 2017)
C. Conclusion
The corona pandemic is indeed a tough test for all nations, testing the
ability of all nations to be able to take wisdom by continuing to strive and
endeavor to find solutions to every problem that exists.
As a big nation, Indonesia must be able to overcome all existing problems.
This is evidenced by Indonesia ready with all possibilities, with the birth of
technologies created by the nation's children to provide online education
services in making it easier for parents to report the results of student
activities while studying at home, as well as facilitating teachers in
collecting data. In addition, teaching materials, enrichment and internet
networks must be prepared carefully.
